Yoga at Pineapple Dance Studios
International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on 21 June at the summer solstice. The discipline of Yoga practise is an ideal accompaniment to dance training and many teachers at Pineapple are qualified yoga practitioners. You will find that many of your pre- and post-class warming sessions at Pineapple incorporate some of the ancient principles of yoga discipline.
Yoga is a natural partner class for ballet students, while the Yoga Dance Fusion class (Thursdays, 10:30 – 11:30 AM BST) incorporates elments of Yoga with Tai Chi, Contemporary dance, and Pilates. The lyrical flow style of this class will appeal to those who enjoy holistic classes as well as ex-dancers.
Classes at Pineapple which incorporate yoga discipline include Strength and stretch with Dance (Amber Rose), Yoga Dance Fusion (David Olton), Ballet: Barre and stretch (Alex Turner), Strength and stretch Ballet (Kim Mendez), Ballet conditioning and strength (Ruth Howard Jones), and Street: HIIT The Dancefloor (Chloe May).
